Serdang Lat Tong (Spicy Soup)

Spicy soup and Fah Tiew Kai (Small piece of chicken in thick soy sauce) are quite a fmous food among the KL-rian. They’re quite a few nice stalls and mostly I found are located in Serdang … Not too sure whether it’s an coincident though 😛

I have been visiting this shop almost every month. It just a small shop but always packed with people. What makes the Fah Tiew Kai so delicious is that they’d marinated the chicken for a day or so until the taste really sips into it. Then they cook using claypot and served using it as well. The thick soy sauce gravy is so tantalising that you can mix it with your rice to slowly enjoy it.

Nasi Lemak which has been considered as one of our national delicacy which is served all day long everywhere ranging from home to stalls to restaurants and cafe. This dish can be very simple with just small anchovies, cucumber sambal and egg, or it can be highly elaborated as well. I found one restaurant that serves tantalising and “well-customized” nasi lemak.

The highly recommended Nasi Bojari – An Indonesian Royalty special @ RM 12.80 (Launching on 21 July 08 – 31 August 08). The otak-otak and fried chicken is a must try!

Rempah Ratus Restaurant & Cafe, a trendy dining outlet that offers diners a contemporary with kampong’s feel ambience for any occasion. The perennial favourite nasi lemak is the centre of attraction at the Nasi Lemak Rempah Ratus restaurant in Bandar Puchong Jaya.

Rice & basmati cooked with coconut milk & spices (choice of chicken or beef rendang) @ RM 8.90

Sungai Way Clay Pot Bak Kut Teh

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

For the best Bak Kut Teh that I’ve ever tried in KL is this place, situated in Sungai Way, or near to SS3. Albeit, numerous claims saying that Klang has the best, I dont really think so. Some friends has recommended one is Salak South, but I haven’t try that yet, so I’m going to stick with this as the best one 🙂

Thick Soup Clay Pot Bak Kut Teh

For Wee Sang Kee, I just love their thick soup and special rice to go with the meat. It’s a mix of slight herbal and dark sauce, not peppery.
